Saying goodbye to those you love can be heartbreaking.

We want to help you give them a fitting service where we can mark the life of those who have died and commend them to God.

What kind of service can we have?

We shall discuss this with you but we can offer all or any of the following:

  • a funeral service in church followed by the crematorium or one of the burial grounds in the area.
  • a service only at the crematorium
  • a memorial service after the funeral

Funerals can come all in sorts of shapes and sizes and we will try to accommodate all of your requests, where possible.

Due to having a church as old as ours, the churchyard is closed and we cannot bury or inter ashes into the churchyard.

Getting ready for a funeral

We will talk through with you the kind of funeral you want and how we can achieve it.

We will normally meet you at least once before the service so we can get things right and make it as personal and fitting as possible.

What is right will depend on your wishes and what might suit the departed and what they may have wanted.

After the funeral

We understand that grieving goes on well after a funeral. We want to be there for you to remember those who have died. If you choose to have their names added to our Book of Remembrance, we will pray for them on the anniversary of their deaths, and a priest in the parish is always available to chat things through if you want.
