You can get married in one of the churches in the parish whatever your beliefs or whether you go to church or not. There are some legal requirements that need to be satisfied but we will explain what they are and help you to meet them, wherever we can.
Where will the wedding be held?
You can get married in either church within the parish but most people choose St Peter’s.
Getting ready for a wedding
Your first port of call is to come along to one of our wedding surgeries, these are held in St Peter’s Church Hall, directly opposite the church on the first Monday of the month between 7 and 8pm.
You do need to have a qualifying connection with the church to be able to get married in it, but we will discuss this when we talk and will help to establish one if required.
A few months before the service we will be in touch as we want to get to know you before the service, this is important and is part of the build up to your wonderful day.
We see your wedding ceremony as the first day of your married life, so we will also look to help you think about marriage more generally.
A church wedding requires church music, it all adds to the beauty of the service and the day, Kevin, our organist would be delighted to talk you through what we can offer.
