St Peter’s is the parish church of St Peter’s, St James’ and St Andrew’s Parish and is situated in the lovely seaside village of Heysham, right beside the sea with views across Morecambe Bay to the mountains of Cumbria.

This has been a place of continuous Christian worship and pilgrimage for over 1200 years. Although the style of worship has changed over the centuries, the church  is still fulfilling its original purpose, based on word and sacrament.

At 10.45am on Sundays, there is a traditional service of Holy Communion.  Wednesday morning services at 10am follow the Holy Communion service according to the Book of Common Prayer.  On the last Sunday of the month there is an evening service called Evening Light at 6pm.  It is a quiet and reflective time.

The church is normally open for visitors Monday to Saturday 10.30 am – 3pm.

Flowers to remember loved ones

It is possible to arrange to have a flower arrangement in church as a remembrance for someone special to you, and this helps us keep flowers in church all year round. Also if you are getting married in St Peter’s during the year, we can help you with your arrangements.

Please contact Sue Wattam on 01524 852716 or email: suewattam@gmail.com to arrange this.

We are also happy for anyone to join our friendly group to help with the church flowers. Again, please contact Sue.

St Peter’s Church Choir

St Peter’s Church Choir currently has a regular membership of about ten and we welcome new members. Our rehearsals are usually on Thursdays from 7.30pm in the church and our Organist and Choirmaster is Kevin Leece.

We enjoy a varied programme of music both old and new under his direction. Apart from the regular support for the services, we also sing anthems during the Communion service and put on  the service of Nine Lessons and Carols at Christmas.
